Auction Wrap-Up, News & Plane Tickets!

The September auction ended on the 9th, and I honestly have no idea where the last week went! It took a few days for everyone who’d notified me that they needed extra time to make their payments, and it took a few more days for me to be able to do all of the number-crunching. I know that many of you have been really rooting for us, and have been anxious to hear how the numbers look when all is said and done. I apologize for making you wait so long!

I’d like to take a moment to offer our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has become invested in our future, whether you’ve made purchases to support my fundraisers, boosted my signal or offered words of kindness and support. All of these things mean the world to both of us, and we are so very glad that you are accompanying us on this wild ride toward our brighter, healthier future. Thank you for being here and for caring about our health, happiness, safety and wellbeing. We are deeply honored and humbled.

Now, without further ado, let’s get down to the numbers!

  • There were 48 pieces available, and they all sold!
  • The auction grossed $1,020, an average of $21.25 per item.
  • PayPal fees were $46.39 in total, but auction winners added $21 in PayPal fee offset charges to their orders, cutting that figure nearly in half!
  • After PayPal fees, we were left with $995. We needed $250 for meds and business-related expenses, so the rest — $745, which was nearly 75% — went straight into the savings account that houses our moving fund, even though the original plan was for 65%.

Because it took me a few days to wrap all of this up, the money has actually already hit our account, as of this morning. I went ahead and purchased our plane tickets a little while ago, and we will be heading to Seattle on October 20th. This gives us exactly five weeks to raise enough funds to make sure that we have a good chance for a solid start in our new home, so I’m rolling up my sleeves and thinking of everything I can to keep the momentum going — and increasing!

Once again, thank you all so much for your support! We wouldn’t be in the process of making this happen without you.

We’re thinking of doing a donation-based fundraiser with perks for contributions. So far we’re thinking something like this…

  • All donations of at least $5 would get some sort of thank you gift from us.
  • Receive a postcard from Seattle if you donate at least $5.
  • Get a thank you card with a print of one of AJ’s paintings with any donation of $10-$20.
  • Receive a OOAK piece of jewelry based on your input (most and least favorite colors, stones, symbols, etc) which has a value of more than the cost of your contribution if you donate at least $25.

Because it will take us some time to settle, these would be the first OOAK custom items I’d make after catching up on current custom orders, and I’d plan to make and send your perks off in the first quarter of 2015. I’d love to hear what y’all think, and whether you’d be interested in participating.

Sending so much love to you all and wishing you the brightest of blessings today!
♥ Bri & AJ

If I can manage in the next couple weeks, I would love to make the $25 donation! It would be cool if you included a postcard with it. 🙂

    So many blessings,
    Rosemary
